Deep Silver has released the first Saints Row expansion titled The Heist & The Hazardous and now available as a single purchase or as part of the Saints Row Expansion Pass.
This expansion includes three new story missions for one or two players, a new weapon, a helicopter, rewards, and cosmetic items, two more expansions will arrive later this summer and also be included in the Expansion Pass or as a separate purchase: specifically, Doc Ketchum's Murder Circus will arrive in July while the third DLC (title yet to be defined) will be released in August.
However, the news does not end here because Volition has also released the free Sunshine Springs update that will make Saints Row shine with many new features including:
- New playable neighborhood in Sunshine Springs
- Improved combat, game flow, and balance
- Selfie mode
- 12 emotes and emote selection wheel
- New camera angle for vehicles
- Additional fixes and changes
Saints Row hasn't been as successful as hoped but Volition and Deep Silver have continued to support the game after launch with new content and free and paid updates. The future of Saints Row is still to be written and the publisher will carefully evaluate how to continue the series, but it is still too early to speculate what will happen to the franchise, in the meantime the post-launch support will continue at least until the summer.
