Taking advantage of the most famous and popular film and culture franchises to create new video games has always been a step that many software houses have taken and Zynga is no exception.
In February, Zynga revealed that she was working on a Star Wars game for mobile and console devices called Star Wars: Hunters .
At the time, the only concrete information available was a video trailer but now, as expected, Zynga is back with a new announcement and a lot (little) to show. Sure, there’s a new trailer, but it’s cinematic, so we still have no idea what the game actually looks like in action. Of course, it’s still in development, and thanks to today’s trailer, we now know that the game is slated for release in 2022, although no exact date has been given.
Anyway, from the trailer we learned that Star Wars: Hunters is a 4 × 4 arena fighting game and the video shows that these arenas are televised sporting events in the game universe. It is clear that Zynga wrote this ridiculous premise to fit the design of the arena’s gameplay, so it would be fair not to expect a well-written storyline.
Battles will take place in real time, although the size of the maps remains to be seen. Also, we still don’t know for sure how to publish on the Play Store even if, a game like this and with such a popular franchise is perfectly suited to free-to-play with a lot of in-app micro transactions.
Waiting for more information on Star Wars: Hunters, we want to remind you that the new Mega Man X DiVE and Rush Rally Origins have just been published on the Play Store.
