Top 10 ideal Video Games for Summer 2022 https://gamersandy.com/top-10-ideal-video-games-for-summer-2022/ https://gamersandy.com/top-10-ideal-video-games-for-summer-2022/#respond Sat, 18 Jun 2022 08:00:52 +0000 https://gamersandy.com/2022/06/18/top-10-ideal-video-games-for-summer-2022/ At the seaside, in the mountains or at home, ten games that will enrich your next three months.

Each season, including summer 2022, has its strengths and weaknesses, very specific characteristics, lovable or despicable depending on personal tastes and inclinations. The three hottest months of the year are no exception, with their days of extreme heat, of course, but also providing more opportunities than usual to organize party evenings with friends and where, generally, holidays are concentrated, the moments of pause and detachment that we allow ourselves from the usual life (among the pros, there would also be the GameStop Summer Sale, with incredible discounts on games and accessories, but that’s another story).

There are those who sling on the beach, those who prefer the mountains, those who stay at home, finally free to indulge in that sweet doing nothing so longed for at other times of the year. No school, no commitments, no meetings, but if there is one thing we love to do even in these moments, that of allowing ourselves a healthy game of video games is certainly part of this exclusive and very limited range of activities.

Precisely in this regard, do you need advice on the most suitable titles to take on vacation or with which to organize some videogame marathon, alone or in company? Here for you, a top 10 of the most suitable games to enjoy in this hopefully hot summer 2022.

Mario Strikers : Battle League Football

The arcade of Nintendo, fun alone, addictive in multy.

This Top 10 starts very strong immediately. The exclusive for Nintendo Switch (available for purchase on the GamerSandy online shop in a couple of clicks ), which officially debuted on June 9th, is certainly the killer application of this summer 2022, a transversal title, suitable for any palate.

In single you can challenge the CPU, testing the depth of the renewed gameplay of the series, which introduces new moves and tactical possibilities. In multiplayer you can challenge both friends, creating the perfect match thanks to the many selectable parameters, and other users caught in the network in events and competitions designed specifically for the competitive.

Frantic at the right point, Mario Strikers: Battle League Football can give life to very tight matches, decided by a goal at the last second, or by a banana peel thrown with the right timing.

Sonic Origins

The ideal collection for the nostalgic.

Released on June 23 on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series, Sonic Origins is nothing more than an intriguing collection that perfectly blends tradition and innovation. The first three chapters of the saga, all published on Mega Drive, and the lesser known Sonic CD, which instead debuted on SEGA CD, can be (re) played in two distinct modes.

La Classica reproduces in all respects the aforementioned titles as well as the most experienced gamers remember them, complete with a 4: 3 format and a graphic filter that simulates the image disturbances of old cathode ray tube televisions. The Anniversary mode, on the other hand, introduces widescreen for 16: 9 screens, new moves for the characters and even cut-scenes that deepen the story.

Ideal for lovers of slightly retro games, who unfortunately, at least for the moment, will have to give up a physical version of the game. Sonic Origins can only be purchased in digital format and for this it will be necessary to equip yourself with credit that can be spent on the eShop, PSN or Xbox Live, perhaps using the cards that can be easily purchased from GamerSandy.com.

Elden Ring

The ultimate soulslike, fun even in summer.

Few have not yet been captured by the charm and splendor of Elden Ring, available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series since last February 25th. However, if you are one of them, it is useless to go around it too much: the time has come to recover the best title ever made by From Software, a serious candidate for the title of the game of the year.

There are many reasons that make the production practically unmissable. To begin with, the open-world approach allows much more freedom than the old Dark Souls, guaranteeing even the less accustomed to the genre of fun and alternative activities to devote to, even when you find yourself in front of a boss who just doesn’t want to know. to be defeated. The art sector is no exception, with a fascinating plot and an amazing art design that will be appreciated even by those who usually keep away from the fantasy genre. Also, the depth of the gameplaywill meet the sympathy of both those looking for a complex experience, and newbies who, faced with the multitude of weapons, objects and skills available by exploring the map and defeating the bosses, will not struggle to find the approach that best suits their fighting style.

A splendid title, which you can buy on the fly from GamerSandy, relatively condescending even towards those who have never endured the extreme difficulty of soulslike, also thanks to the presence of cooperative multiplayer. Ideal at home, but also in portability, given the recent debut on the market of Steam Deck which more than worthily supports the From Software game.

F1 22

Simulation at the right point, for those who dream of becoming World Champion.

The saga dedicated to Formula 1, by Codemasters, returns again this year with a new iteration expected for next July 1st, on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series, a title that you can already book on the online shop by GamerSandy.

It is a racing game that, as has become tradition, almost halfway intersects simulation and arcade, with many options available to the user with the ability to shape the type of experience and the level of difficulty sought.

In addition to the obvious team and driver updates, new championship circuits have been introduced, including the Miami Grand Prix. The main modes are back, including season and especially career, in which to play the role of a rookie, in search of his first world title.

Ideal for those who love Formula 1, virtually infinite thanks to competitive online multiplayer.

Diablo Immortal

After a long wait, on 2 June Diablo Immortal, a free-to-play spin-off of the popular Blizzard brand , made its debut on mobile devices and PCs.

Despite the relatively new context for the IP, the game re-proposes all the playful and artistic styles that have made it famous among RPG fans. The editor allows you to customize the avatar, after choosing one of the hero classes present. The game world is teeming with quests and dungeons to explore, on the hunt for fearsome opponents and loot with which to upgrade equipment. Well-known faces and new entries develop a plot that, although barely sketched, follows and re-proposes the topoi to which Diablo has always accustomed us.

Given the free-to-play nature, the title obviously bends to the microtransitions useful to further enhance one’s character (in this sense the GamerSandy cards that provide you with credit that can be spent on Battle.net are useful ), but the main quests are still easily completed with a minimum of strategy or, alternatively, by relying on friends and users fished from the net with whom, within a couple of taps on the touch-screen, create quite large parties that can thwart any threat.

Thanks to dedicated servers for each continent, the netcode does not know a moment of uncertainty, a feature that contributes to making Diablo Immortal an extremely addictive title, especially considering that, thanks to quests that can be completed in a matter of minutes, it has all the cards. in order to be one of the most played titles, under the umbrella, this summer 2022.

Kirby and the Lost Land

A pleasant 3D platform, ideal for indulging in a little relaxation.

Kirby and the Lost Land is the classic game to be enjoyed between a siesta and another, between a swim in the sea and another, between a moment of relaxation and another. Released exclusively for Nintendo Switch on March 25th, this is a 3D platformer in which, by sucking up enemies and acquiring their special abilities, Nintendo’s famous pink mascot must fight his way through a thousand obstacles and difficulties.

The readable and easy to learn gameplay, the relatively low level of challenge and a level design that guides the user along the path to follow, are characteristics that make this game a relaxing, enjoyable experience, within everyone’s reach. New game mechanics, introduced with perfect timing, at the same time prevent the adventure from becoming boring and predictable in the long run.

The classic, great and ingenious, platform made in Nintendo, which masterfully blends with the times and rhythms of the summer, suitable not only for longtime fans of the brand, but also for the youngest and for those who only entertain every now and then with the video games.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout

The Takeshi’s Castle of video games.

Those who have a few years on their shoulders will remember Games Without Borders, while the younger ones will have some faded memories of Takeshi’s Castle. Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, available on PC and on current and past generation consoles, is exactly this, a videogame reinterpretation, and even more light-hearted, of the aforementioned television programs.

In the role of bizarre anthropomorphic beans, which you can customize with hundreds of equally eccentric skins, obtainable both by playing and buying them in the in-game store, you will have to overcome unscathed a series of levels with the most unthinkable design and objectives, avoiding at all costs be eliminated by failing the round test, challenging 59 other connected players from all over the world.

From wacky team soccer matches to obstacle courses to be overcome within a time limit, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout will test your skill with the pad, your patience, your ability to remain impassive in the face of absolutely insane situations. and comic.

Published in August last year, thanks to continuous updates, the Mediatonic creature has all the credentials to occupy a good part of your afternoons also in this summer 2022, especially if you usually play online with a close-knit group of friends. In addition, another gem, starting from 21 June the game will turn into a free-to-play. What better time to throw yourself into the arena?

GTA V

Rockstar’s best seller shines in a new light thanks to the update for the next-gen

In terms of longevity and notoriety, even GTA V has little to envy to any other video game. Originally released way back in 2013, it’s back in the limelight again thanks to the recent upgrade for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.

Fun today as then in single player, the improvements made by this update are especially appreciated in GTA Online, a game within the game that has been entertaining a large community for years now, engaged in multiple activities on the streets of Los Santos.

From significantly reduced loading times, to an even more solid netcode, passing through a better articulated progression of missions, also to allow newbies to initiate the mechanics of the online experience more easily, there are many reasons why it is worth trampling for the first time or return to the streets of Los Santos.

An immortal open-world, which with this update has shown once again that it still has something to say and to give, especially if you love playing online with your friends.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

For those who leave and for those who stay, there is always an island to return to

A title that debuted in March 2020 exclusively on Nintendo Switch, has convinced millions of gamers around the world to move to a sparsely inhabited and abandoned island, to transform it into the place of their dreams, a small corner of paradise to be customize and modify to your liking.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons, obviously present in the GamerSandy online catalog, is the chapter with the greatest potential of the whole series, an iteration that convinced many skeptics, little attracted by the mood and the lack of interactivity guaranteed in the past. Thanks to so many characters to talk to, different collectibles to obtain and, above all, a vast multitude of objects to collect, create, exchange with your friends, New Horizon has a lot to offer, especially to those with a certain aesthetic taste.

Similar to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Animal Crossing also recently received an update, Happy Home Paradise, which, as the title suggests, focuses on interior design, with dozens of new objects and aesthetic patterns with which to create the home of your own. dreams. Also included with the Nintendo Switch Online + subscription, those who wish can purchase the package separately thanks to the cards available from GamerSandy.

Whether on your own, constantly trying to improve your home and island, or online, exploring and visiting other people’s islands, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a perfect game for enjoyable and relaxing hit and run games.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

The timeless Nintendo party game.

The Mario Kart series certainly needs no introduction. With the eighth chapter, originally published on Wii U and re-proposed, in a revised, corrected and enhanced version, on Nintendo Switch, the brand has perhaps reached the pinnacle in terms of quantity and quality of the contents offered.

Dozens of tracks, a very wide roster of drivers, lots of karts and motorbikes to choose from. The gameplay also re-proposes the classic arcade approach made of drifting, red shells thrown against opponents and a track design that is not inclined to respect the well-known laws of thermodynamics.

The result is a title that despite the years accumulated on its back continues to amuse and convince, which has found in Nintendo Switch the perfect platform to express its full potential. Beyond the evergreen single player, thanks to online and local multiplayer, even sharing one of the two Joy-Con supplied with the console with a friend, a game is enough to be fatally captured by the type of experience and fun that is in it. able to convey Nintendo production.

Furthermore, brand new tracks have recently been added, available free of charge for those who have subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online +, or can be purchased separately through the pass sold by GamerSandy.

In a nutshell, summer 2022 is yet another to spend in the company of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

The 10 Best Games to Play on Game Pass https://gamersandy.com/the-10-best-games-to-play-on-game-pass/ https://gamersandy.com/the-10-best-games-to-play-on-game-pass/#respond Thu, 12 Aug 2021 00:00:00 +0000 https://gamersandy.com/2021/08/12/the-10-best-games-to-play-on-game-pass/ Have you just got a new PC or a nice Xbox Series X / S but have no idea which are the 10 best games to play on Game Pass? We tell you!

Xbox Game Pass is probably the most practical and advantageous subscription system among those currently on the video game market: with a monthly fee of 9.99 € (12.99 € for the Ultimate version) you have a catalog of more than one hundred games available. be able to use it as you prefer, on an Xbox or PC console, with several additional benefits. But in such a vast catalog it is difficult to address one’s initial sympathies: fear not, we are here to advise you on which are the 10 best games to play on Game Pass. Between unmissable titles and hidden gems, we are throwing you some suggestions on those titles that you absolutely must try, since they are included in the subscription.

Forza Horizon 4

Let’s start with a racing game, which should make all palates agree a little, especially if of this quality. We are talking about a title that puts photorealism on display, with a technical sector of impressive verisimilitude with reality: the English landscapes present in the game are reproduced with amazing fidelity, as well as the hundreds of cars available. The gameplay is very easy to play compared to other decidedly more simulation titles: here the important thing is to run and get to the finish line. Path? You choose it!

Yakuza

Once upon a time, in decidedly dark times, Japanese titles on PC (and Xbox) could be counted on the fingertips. Now, thankfully, that’s no longer the case, and even exquisitely Japanese-style games are perfectly at home on Microsoft machines. One of the sagas that is taking root very well is Yakuza, much loved by its target audience. A series of action games with elements of fighting and RPG in a bizarre mix, which follows the (mis) adventures of Kiryu Kazuma, a yakuza with a very high sense of honor and justice struggling with highly dramatic events interspersed, however, from side quests and completely crazy minigames. The package also includes the new Like a Dragon, sequel to the first saga that changes protagonist and play style, becoming a JRPG. If you like the genre you can start from this, if instead you want to live the thrilling epic of Kiryu, it is difficult to decide: Kiwami is a more concentrated and less dispersive introduction, and philologically it is the first title; 0 is a prequel that sets the stage for everything, with a more modern and varied approach.

Microsoft Flight Simulator

A title that could change your entire approach to gaming, if only you let yourself go and experience it. This is a flight simulation, the most accurate and spectacular consumer experience of the genre, but it can rightly be intimidating to newbies. Don’t be afraid: the beauty of Game Pass is also that you can try a game without obligation to see if it suits you (and if your PC is powerful enough to run it properly!). In terms of accuracy it is frightening, with maps and landscapes equal to the real ones and a vocation for the pleasure of travel and the unique discovery.

Sea of Thieves

And speaking of travels and discoveries, here is the best “pirate simulator” around, which allows you to navigate, fight, explore and loot at will: a true bumblebee experience to live alone or in company in a sea teeming with chance. The approach can be unbridled or more rhythmic, depending on the moments and preferences, but there is always something interesting or dense of atmosphere to do… even if only, simply, ride the waves in the company of Jack Sparrow in the very latest DLC released a few weeks ago officially inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean.

A Plague Tale: Innocence

We are in France in the mid-1300s, afflicted by the Hundred Years War and the Black Death: in the shoes of two very young brothers Amicia and Hugo, we will be led by the hand in an adventure with dramatic tones that speaks of brotherly love, brutality and resilience. Although not finished as a The Last of Us, the title of the French Asobo Studio has nothing to be reproached with and offers several genuinely touching moments, as well as a rather original and fascinating, albeit dark, atmosphere.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice

And still on the subject of original and disturbing action adventures, it is impossible not to mention the small-great masterpiece of Ninja Theory, which bring to fruition their great experience in the genre to make us take on the role of the warrior Senua. A relatively short but intense adventure like few others, touching on themes of great maturity and difficulty, including that of sanity. Unmissable on Game Pass!

Gears 5

On Game Pass there is practically the entire series of Gears and we recommend it to you to enjoy what is perhaps the most beautiful (and hypertrophic) third-person shooter saga ever. However, if you just want to take a look at the genre through one of its best exponents, surely Gears 5 is the choice to make: spectacular graphics, varied gameplay, rewarding multiplayer and a great main campaign make it irresistible. But we already know that at some point you will go back and play them all in a row, in chronological order, once you are passionate about the events!

Dragon Quest 11 S: Echoes of a lost era

Whether you are a fan of GRPG or not, this is the title that you absolutely must download to launch yourself into the atmosphere of a Japanese RPG in its highest form of “classic” expression: revised, corrected and expanded version of the original title, promises and keeps dozens and dozens (hundreds) of hours of gameplay in what might be remembered in game design manuals as “the apotheosis of the genre” since everything you can ask for in a similar title, DQ 11 S has it. Glory awaits you!

Hollow Knight

The Metroidvania genre (i.e. the titles inspired by the best 2D chapters of the Metroid and Castlevania sagas ) is having its revival in recent times thanks to more or less indie titles but of excellent quality, just like Hollow Knight, very inspired in every point of view: graphic design, level design, general game design; exploring the disturbing world created by Team Cherry is a small pleasure that, in fact, conquered a large part of the public who tried it and, later, probably also loved it.

Ori

Even Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisp are part of this kind, but they go beyond the usually rigid setting standards metroidvania enriching and expanding it all with a decidedly less platforming gameplay of plaster and smoother action. Everything, then, is designed to make you exclaim “wow!” every two by three, either for the light effects, the backdrops that are small art pieces, the touching music, the various ideas that Moon Studios have designed for their audience.

For any specific and current info on Xbox Game Pass, we refer you to the official website: we only remind you that there are three subscription plans and two price thresholds: the first two are very similar but one concerns PC games and the other. those for consoles; the third, on the other hand, is ambivalent and includes mobile games, cloud gaming, Xbox Live Gold and EA Play for just three euros more per month. In total, more games than you will ever be able to play… for this reason, we hope that our guide to the 10 best games to play on Game Pass has been useful for you… but of course not limiting. You can try what you want without hesitation, on the other hand. Have fun!

If you haven’t done it yet, you can buy it here, some pieces of the collector’s edition may still be available.
However, ours was not an easy journey, indeed, but facing it in its most raw and relentless nature has allowed us to put in focus what are the priorities in this long journey of revenge where nothing is as it really seems Ellie’s survival depends above all on you. So here are 10 useful tips to get out of a collapsing world alive.

1. Take the time to explore

The Last of Us Part II has grown a lot compared to the first chapter: it means being faced with much larger areas, each of which hides something, from a greater number of resources to better equipment, sometimes hidden in safes while others are only there, waiting to be found. Do not be put off by a closed door and do not rush to continue. Every ravine can hide a secret and it would be a shame not to get fully involved in Naughty Dog’s work.

2. You consume resources when you have too many

It may seem like obvious advice, or crazy depending on your point of view, but Ellie has limited inventory to contend with. If even at the highest difficulty we found ourselves having reached the limit of resources, aware that there are less of them distributed throughout the game, we can imagine with a more contained level of challenge how much more generous it can be.

When you happen not to be able to collect a rag, a bottle or waste materials because you are at most transportable, check your inventory and evaluate whether it is not appropriate to use them to create something: it is not necessarily useful but not being able retrace your steps after completing a macro area, you might as well not abandon the resources to their fate.

3. There is no single approach to overcoming enemies

The improvements made to the level design and greater freedom of movement for Ellie made The Last of Us Part II a much more varied experience in terms of possible solutions to escape the enemies. Direct confrontation is rarely the best solution, especially against the infected, but the fight itself can be avoided if you feel you don’t have to (or want to) do it.

As bloodthirsty as she is, Ellie’s goal is very specific and it is not necessary to make her a modern day Rambo: look around, study the environment, use the skills available and the listening mode to get an idea of the surroundings and choose the approach that you feel best suited to the situation. In short, take your time. Nobody runs after you.

4. Make sure you are always ready before a fight

Sometimes you will have to face open confrontations. They are not telephoned, it is difficult to predict when it will happen, so always keep an eye on ammunition and make sure you have a melee weapon with you: although some infected can be attacked with bare hands without risk, the Clickers remain the more common and lethal in this sense. You can’t approach them without having something to defend yourself with, and Ellie’s switchblade is not considered in this sense. Remember this when you see them running towards you.

5. Dodge, dodge, dodge!

Perhaps the absolute blessing of the whole game, dodging is the element that we would have wanted already in the first chapter and for which we were finally satisfied. It will be your lifesaver on numerous occasions and, if used with the right timing, will allow you to take advantage of any opponent, from humans to infected of any category. You could even face a whole fight with runners and stalkers with your bare hands, if you don’t want to waste bullets, but always make sure you have your back covered or not be overwhelmed: the enemies are certainly not there waiting their turn before they hit you.

6. Let him who is without sin throw the first brick

If you think that bricks and empty bottles serve only as a distraction, now is the time to change your mind: in The Last of Us Part II you have the possibility of using them also in combat to stun enemies on the fly, using the rapid launch, and deliver them a lethal blow. This is also true in the stealth phases but it is certainly more recommended in heated clashes, especially against Clickers: if you manage to stun them, you can eliminate them in one shot even without having a melee weapon with you. But be careful because you can only carry one of these items with you at a time, use it wisely.

7. The knife is your best friend

Ellie’s absolute advantage is her switchblade. Where with Joel, in the first chapter, you were forced to build knives from time to time ready to break at the first use on an unsuspecting enemy, our young protagonist can exploit her own at will without fear of it breaking: this is particularly useful against Clickers, who can be caught in the back and eliminated in one fell swoop as long as they remain unaware of your presence. Remember this when planning a silent assault.

8. To each his own abilities

The Last of Us Part II features two playable characters, Ellie and another whose identity we won’t reveal. Each has their own branches of skills, some already unlocked and others obtainable by reading the related training manuals that you will find scattered around the game world.

Do not rush to unlock everything immediately (for that there is the New Game +), instead focus on which skill is akin to your style of play and adjust accordingly: you may have to compromise to get to the one that interests you but you will discover, one once obtained, how much it was worth it. To learn a skill you need to consume supplements, so we go back to the first tip and remind you to thoroughly explore each area to make sure you don’t forget anything behind.

9. Leave the dirty work to your partner too

In some sections you will be accompanied by a character controlled by artificial intelligence, who for most of the time undertakes not to be discovered during the stealth phases but is also able to adapt to your style and help you eliminate enemies in silence ( we’ll talk about it in the next tip). When things start to get hotter, for example in open fights, it’s always a good idea to leave some of the work to him who, in addition to having great aim, can also temporarily block enemies to allow you to land an attack. lethal. Make the most of this new artificial intelligence, otherwise what is there to do?

10. Customize your game however you like

The beauty of The Last of Us Part II also lies in the large amount of options to customize your game. Accessibility was the key word around which the developers concentrated and the efforts paid off with a level of customization that counts as many as sixty options: from those specific to people with specific disabilities, for example visually impaired, to others designed to deepen the difficulty without limiting it to the choice of modality per se.

For example, after selecting “Survivor” all other options will adapt accordingly but you can go and tweak them to decide your challenge rate. You may want to keep the complexity of the puzzles to the maximum but improve the interaction of your partner, who will tend to be passive at the most difficult, or mitigate the ferocity of the enemy AI. It all depends on you, on the use you want to make of an accessibility that Naughty Dog entrusts totally to your hands.

10 Worst Movies based on Successful Video Games https://gamersandy.com/10-worst-movies-based-on-successful-video-games/ https://gamersandy.com/10-worst-movies-based-on-successful-video-games/#respond Sun, 30 May 2021 00:00:00 +0000 https://gamersandy.com/2021/05/30/10-worst-movies-based-on-successful-video-games/ In the last 30 years, cinema has taken its cue from video games, giving rise to often disappointing films. Here are 10 bad movies based on blockbuster video games.

Starting in the mid-90s, cinema drew heavily from the gaming market to bring stories based on its great successes to the big screen. A combination that has never failed over the years and that will bring the remake of Mortal Kombat to Sky on May 30th. In conjunction with the new transposition of the well-known fighting game, we offer you 10 bad films taken from successful video games.

Mortal Kombat

The list of 10 bad movies taken from successful video games can only start with the first film version of Mortal Kombat signed by a then 30 year old Paul WS Anderson. The film is inspired by the well-known video game created by Ed Boon and John Tobias for Midway Games.

The story sees the best warriors of Earth and the OutWorld realm face off in an interdimensional martial arts tournament run by the elder Gods. The tournament takes place once every generation and was created to keep the peace between worlds, but if one of them manages to win it ten times in a row, he can conquer the other realm. The kingdom of Outworld has already won it nine times in a row and the conquest of Earth is now close, it will be up to the Shaolin warrior Liu Kang, the action movie star Johnny Cage and the special forces agent Sonya Blade to defeat the warriors of the emperor Shao Kahn. To guide them the god of thunder Raiden.

Costing $ 18 million, the Mortal Kombat film grossed $ 125 million, making it a commercial success. The film is certainly the least bad of those taken from video games shot in the 90s, but as much as the atmosphere and the fights are quite successful, the truth is that the plot is non-existent and the dialogues, however ironic, are often ridiculous. In the same way, after an interesting start, there is a non-stop sequence of fights, often without a reason. Surely the film has the merit of taking itself little seriously, but it is based on overly stereotyped characters, out-of-the-ordinary actors ( Christopher Lambertin the role of Raiden above all). Over the years it has been somewhat re-evaluated and raised to cult status, but it is undeniable that Anderson’s film is not a completely successful film but certainly made with the heart. Reviewing it after years, the feeling is that the director was the only one who believed in the project.

Curiosity : Steven Spielberg should have appeared in a cameo, which he had to give up due to too many commitments. He was supposed to play the director of Johnny Cage’s film. In addition, Cameron Diaz was initially cast for the role of Sonya Blade, who gave up the part due to injury.

Given the success in 1997 comes the sequel. Mortal Kombat – Total Destruction picks up where the first chapter left off, or with Shao Khan intent on invading and conquering Earth. The sequel is fully part of the trash vein, without a plot and with a series of fights that are not exactly exciting. Involuntarily comic thanks to a script not worthy of the name and a story full of inconsistencies and ridiculous dialogues. Almost complete re-cast for a forgettable film.

Street Fighter

The 90s and fighting video game movies have had a troubled history, as evidenced by the cinematic version of Street Fighter. The 1994 film is directed by Steven E. de Souza and stars Jean-Claude Van Damme, Raul Julia, Kilie Minogue and a very young Ming-Na Wen.

We all know history. General Bison reigns supreme in little Shadoloo and intends to make his kingdom a superpower. To do this, he has captured Western citizens and demanded a ransom from the United Nations, who will not stand by and instruct Colonel Guile to resolve the situation.

Costing $ 35 million, it grossed 100 million, but commercial success is hardly synonymous with a good movie and Street Fighter confirms it. Not only does the story get water on all sides, with dialogues and scenes bordering on the absurd, but also the fights are nothing exceptional. Same goes for the characters, to say the least two-dimensional. It is not enough to stage the protagonists of the videogame to have a compelling story. The only positive note is the interpretation of Raul Julia, to whom the film is dedicated since he died shortly after its completion.

Street Fighte r is a wrong film on many fronts, starting with its involuntary comedy and exaggeratedly chaotic. The easter eggs present and the final scene that sees the actors assume the typical poses of the characters are appreciable.

Not happy with what was done in 1994, fifteen years later the spin-off Street Fighter – La leggenda ( Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li ) arrives, a monographic film focused on the iconic Chinese videogame fighter. Playing her is Kristin Kreuk, Smallville’s Lana Lang.

A somewhat absurd film where Mr. Bison fights elegantly dressed, with fights that are anything but credible, actors wearing fake wigs and special effects that would make most movie fans shiver. Indefensible. Give us back Jackie Chan and her awesome parody in a scene from 1993’s City Hunter.

Super Mario Bros.

It was 1993 when Super Mario Bros. arrived in cinemas, a film inspired by the well-known videogame starring the plumber created by Nintendo. Directed by the duo Rocky Morton and Annabel Jankel and starring the late Bob Hoskins, John Leguizamo and Dennis Hopper, it was the first film based on a video game to be produced and the first major disappointment.

The film begins by speculating that the meteorite that caused the extinction of the dinosaurs actually gave birth to a parallel dimension where they were exiled. In order to return to Earth, their descendants must operate the meteorite, which however lacks a fragment, hidden on Earth. The story comes alive when paleontology student Daisy Toadstool finds strange dinosaur bones on a construction site. A discovery that will change his life and that of the plumber brothers Mario Mario and Luigi Mario. The three will find themselves in the parallel world inhabited by the descendants of the dinosaurs, where they will try to save Daisy and thwart the evil Koopa’s plan.

It was certainly not easy to make a film inspired by Super Mario Bros., but the 1993 film surpasses all the most pessimistic expectations thanks to a rather rambling story, from the cyberpunk context out of place and with events and dialogues to say the least absurd. A wrong film from the beginning and which according to the rumors saw the two protagonists always drunk and the script rewritten every day. On more than one occasion, Bob Hoskins has expressed his regret for taking part in it.

Despite a technical cast (the music is by Alan Silvestri) and an exceptional artistic cast, Super Mario Bros. is rightly among the 10 bad films taken from successful video games. Probably the worst made so far.

Double Dragon

Among the biggest disappointments of videogame films there is also Double Dragon, a 1994 film directed by James Yukich and starring the martial artist Mark Dacascos, Scott Wolf, alyssa Milano and Robert Patrick.

The story is set in 2007, in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles where gangs and crime are king. In this reality move the brothers Jimmy and Billy Lee, martial arts experts. Their lives will change when the fearsome Koga Shuko discovers that the two are in possession of half of a mystical and powerful medallion created hundreds of years ago by the Chinese emperor. It will be up to the two brothers to defeat Shuko, reunite the medallion and restore peace to the city.

Take a cult video game with a (minimal) plot and do not take it into consideration at all but give life to a film with a story that is nothing short of imaginative and simplistic, with rather poor dialogue and amateur acting and you will get Double Dragon. A feature film with a lazy script and ridiculous fighting to say the least, where the post-apocalyptic setting is the only thing the film has in common with video games. Without doubt among the worst films ever made and among the 10 worst films based on successful video games. Almost thirty years later it has fully become a cult of the 90s trash.

DOA: Dead or Alive

Unfortunately it is a certainty, films based on martial arts video games always manage to disappoint. In 2007 this privilege went to DOA: Dead or Alive, a feature film directed by Corey Yuen and based on the well-known Tecmo videogame.

The story is very simple. Victor Donovan invites sixteen formidable fighters to participate in the DOA, the famous international martial arts tournament. The participants each represent a different discipline and were chosen for their skill. What they don’t know is that Donovan plans to create the perfect human weapon and that he will use the tournament participants to do so.

Although the plot of the film is inspired by video games, the bitter truth is that the screenplay brings to the screen a rather inconclusive and at times spooky story, with fights that would like to pay homage to the Chinese wuxia and Tarantino (specifically Kill Bill) but which are ridiculous and amateur, not to mention the nothing short of comic dialogue. Suitable for those who want to unplug for a couple of hours and have fun seeing a somewhat rambling product.

Tekken

In 1994 one of the most popular fighting games arrived on the videogame market: Tekken. Born as an arcade videogame and among the first titles available for Play Station, in 2009 it arrives at the cinema with the film of the same name, but the realization leaves a lot to be desired, which is why it could not miss in the list of 10 bad films taken from video games.

The story is set in a post-apocalyptic future where the world is ruled by various corporations. The most powerful is the Tekken, ruled by da Heihachi Mishima. To keep the peace, the corporation organizes every year the Iron Fiat, a martial arts tournament whose winner will have glory and prestige. Haihachi, however, did not deal with the ambition of his son Kazuya, who in turn was unaware that he had a son who was eager for revenge. Let the tournament begin.

Looking at Tekken from the first scene, you can sense the laziness with which the film was conceived. You pass the decision to twist the plot of the game (which is always interesting), but finding yourself in a post apocalyptic world where you do not understand anything about what is happening and with ridiculous chases with hard rock music in the background is too much. Just as the characterizations of the characters and their presentations are void. Emblematic is the character of Heihachi Mishima, who has the face of the veteran Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa and who presents a fake make-up that would make even the most inexperienced of cosplayers shiver.

A boring movie with an inconsistent story and not exactly irresistible fights, even if they are the best part. Project started badly and ended worse. A must see if you suffer from insomnia, it will surely help you.

Despite the failure of audiences and critics, the prequel Tekken 2: Kazuya’s Revenge arrives in 2014 and the result is even worse than the first film. A plot without rhyme or reason and inconsistent with its predecessor, bewildered actors and ridiculous fights. To all this must be added a meaningless love story. Inexplicable the title, which speaks of revenge without this being there in the least. Really unwatchable.

Max Payne

Among the 10 bad films taken from successful video games there is no doubt Max Payne, an action movie inspired by the game of the same name. Directed by John Moore ( Behind Enemy Lines ), the feature stars Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, Beau Bridges, Olga Kurylenko, Ludacris, Chris O’Donnell and Donal Logue.

The film’s story follows that of the video game, and sees policeman Max Payne investigating the murder of his wife and daughter. Investigation that will make him become the target of both his colleagues, who hold him responsible for the killing of detective Alex Balder, and the criminal mind behind the sale of the powerful drug known as Valkyrie.

Although the plot of the film reflects a lot that of the videogame, Max Payne is proof that being faithful to the original product is not enough if at the base there is a script that leaks from all sides, bringing to the screen an inconclusive, banal and devoid of noteworthy twists. Not to mention the bad acting of the cast. The maximum penalty is for the spectator.

House of the Dead

When it comes to films based on video games, it is impossible not to mention the German director Uwe Boll, who between 2003 and 2008 directed seven films based on as many video games. Among these it is difficult not to mention House of Dead, inspired by the well-known SEGA videogame.

The story begins at the end, with Rudy recounting the incredible experience he just survived on Isla de la Muerte, the location chosen for a rave party. What no one could suspect is that the priest Castillo Hermano has lived on the island off the coast of Florida for about two hundred, condemned by Spain to exile for his experiments on immortality, who will attack the participants in the rave with his horde of zombies.

The film, dated 2003, is the classic lazy and meaningless zombie movie, devoid of a plot with a minimum of coherence or interest. What we are witnessing is the classic story of a group of kids – one-dimensional characters to say the least – who find themselves having to fight zombies (badly made) and a centenary mad scientist. As if that weren’t enough, there is no lack of involuntary comic scenes (such as the cubist in a dress that reproduces the US flag kicking zombies in the face) and senseless references to video games. A completely new plot is welcome, but one that makes some sense.

Given the bad result, obviously in 2005 comes the sequel / reboot Zombie Hunters (House of the Dead 2). Behind the camera this time is Michael Hurst. The success of the sequel is the same as the predecessor, a boring film, more than predictable and with absurd dialogues, scenes and characters, although it has at least a shred of plot. The funny thing is that it feels more like a transposition of Resident Evil than House of the Dead. Yawns assured.

Alone in the Dark

Uwe Boll is probably the proverbial cross (without delight) of any fan of horror, and of cinema in general. The German filmmaker is infamous for his bad films, including Alone in the Dark, an essential in the list of 10 bad films based on successful video games.

The protagonist of the story is the investigator of the paranormal Edward Carnby, who investigates the mysterious disappearances of children who grew up with him in an orphanage. At his side is the anthropologist Aline Cedrac, who will help him in the search for an ancient artifact capable of connecting the world with the Hereafter.

Although the film is inspired by the fourth videogame chapter, or Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare, it turns out to be a somewhat rambling mix of many genres, starting from the detective story with the voice of the protagonist off screen (here to say the least annoying), to supernatural action and above all to products like Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider. Not to mention the useless dialogue and rather boring action scenes. As often happens, it turns out to be involuntarily comical.

Not happy with the mess made, four years later Boll decides to produce the sequel whose story, however, has nothing to do with the previous chapter. The plot revolves around a cursed dagger and the witch who made it. As for the predecessor, here too the realization leaves much to be desired thanks to a story that is meaningless and devoid of a minimum of meaning. 90 minutes of continuous WTF – like all Uwe Boll films – that will leave the viewer speechless. In a far from positive way.

Assassin’s Creed

The list of 10 bad movies taken from successful video games can only end with one of the biggest recent disappointments of this trend: Assassin’s Creed. The film directed by Justin Kurzel and starring Michael Fassbender is the transposition of the well-known Ubisoft videogame, unfortunately, however, between saying and doing there is often a black hole in the middle.

The story stars the criminal Callum Lynch, who will discover that he is the descendant of Aguilar de Nerha, a member of the Order of Assassins who lived in 15th century Spain. Thanks to the Abstergo Indstries, man will relive Aguilar’s memories, with the aim of finding the Apple of Eden. The object has the power to bring peace to the world.

In 2016, the Australian director brought to the screen a film that decides to take the key elements of the videogame and build an original plot around them. The problem is that the story is somewhat confusing and boring, where there is too much talk and whose fights fail to arouse the slightest excitement.

A good cast is not enough to revive a film that has a bad script capable of giving life only to boredom and yawns. It is meant to be an action movie but looks like the LSD version of The Da Vinci Code. Yet another wasted opportunity.

but it is better to rely on sites with free, freely downloadable games. Furthermore, in addition to those released with formulas such as Freetoplay or which are open source and free for everyone, it is also possible to play the latest video games for free, with temporary offers.

In this guide we will show you the best sites to download free PC games , without necessarily having to obtain a credit card or a prepaid card; the only thing that will be required by the various stores is an account, freely obtainable with a valid email address and by choosing a sufficiently secure password (some stores also ask for two-factor authentication, so as to increase the security of the new account).
Free computer gaming games
The titles are offered for free download for a limited time or are released for free in the basic version, with the option to purchase the Deluxe version or the version with all the updates or DLCs at a later time. On some stores the games are given away on a regular basis, so all that remains is to wait for the indicated day and proceed with the download.

Main sites where to download free games for PC

Steam is the first store that we recommend you try to download free games for PC, whose client is available for download from the official website .

This store gives away a commercial game every week (which you normally pay for), so it is advisable to always keep it installed on the gaming computer and open it automatically at every start in order to redeem the game offered by the store. In addition to the games offered weekly, we find a wide selection of completely free games, which we can immediately download to our computer to start playing immediately.

The best free games that we can download on the Epic Games Store are: Rocket League, Star Trek Online, Hyper Scape, Core, World of Warships, Rouge Company and Magic: Legends.

EA Origin is another store from which we can download free games, with a client to install and download from the official site .
This store also allows you to download free games for a limited period of time: when a new free game is reported, all we have to do is open the store and proceed with the download of the title before the deadline (usually a few days after the announcement). After I add the free game to the library it will stay that way forever (or at least as long as we keep the account valid and active on EA Origin).

The free games available immediately on EA Origin are: Apex Legends, Command and Conquer: Tiberium Alliances and Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Other sites where you can download free PC games
Those mentioned above are the best stores where you can get free games immediately or where to wait for the arrival of the free timed offers, so as to be able to fill the library of games (even if in this case it is better to talk about libraries) with many free games without spend not even a penny. If the free games seen above are not enough for you, we can download other games from the sites indicated in the list below:

Conclusions

Playing immediately the most famous and newly distributed games on the market without paying even a penny is practically impossible, unless you rely on piracy (with all the risks involved).
