More than seven years after the launch of Grand Theft Auto V, the imminent announcement of a sequel to the Rockstar Games series would seem somewhat obvious, yet the US software house continues to maintain confidentiality and secrecy regarding its new open world title.
There are really numerous rumors that have been chasing each other for several months, and which in most cases have suggested the 80s as the chosen setting for GTA 6. However, fans of GTA Vice City may be disappointed to learn that – at least according to the words of the well – known leaker Tom Henderson – the next episode of the franchise will follow in the footsteps of its predecessor and will be set in the modern era .
Henderson exposed himself after a Twitter user almost desperately reiterated his desire to hear a few shreds of information regarding the highly anticipated game. Certainly we cannot take for granted what is stated in the twitter you find below, but we know well how Henderson has proved to be a rather reliable source over the years , at least in regards to the Call of Duty and Battlefield franchises. We will see if the insider has caught us again this time, but in the meantime we invite you to take the news as a simple rumor.
In February, rumors intensified regarding a possible GTA 6 announcement trailer, suggested by a Rockstar Games job announcement. Since then, however, no news has come about, and the promotional material that the development studio is working on could actually be dedicated to the next-gen version of GTA V, arriving on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S in the second half of 2021.
